Meet the Horses

Here is my herd of trail horses!  We are very proud of our horses; without them we wouldn't be able to do this for a living.  Each one of these horses is hand-picked for their abilities and temperament. We have trained most of them on-site, and wouldn't have it any other way.  When we have the horse
here from start to finish we know exactly what kind of horse we've got when we are done!

Those of you who have ridden with us before have seen it first hand.  Horses like these are no accident - we work long, hard hours that no one ever sees to make these horses the very best.

Thanks for looking at our herd - we hope to meet you in person real soon!

Cherokee - American Paint Horse Mare

Born May 28, 2000, we bought this Paint Horse mare and broke her to trail ride and work cows.  She is quick and nimble; she has power steering and power breaks.  If you can sit in the saddle you can ride this horse!  She will hop over little ditches though, so stay alert.

Big Red - American Quarter Horse Gelding

Big Red was born February 19, 1997.  A lot of folks love this big guy.  He is easy-going and has a good head on his shoulders.  This horse really loves to cover ground so if he is in a group of horses with short legs you may have to hold him back some.

Jake - American Paint Horse Gelding

Jake is another horse with long legs!  He has been with me for about 10 years.  I have had him longer than any other horse I currently own.  He does it all and he does it with style.  I would be lost without him!

Doc - American Paint Horse Gelding

Doc is one of the horses that we have had since he was a baby, born April 15, 2002.  He is a grandson of 'Boston Mac', one of the greatest Quarter Horses of our time.  His breeding shows he is a looker and a head-turner.  He was broke and trained here and we take a lot of pride in offering him as a fine riding horse!  He can be a little lazy, though, so stay after him to keep him up with the group.  He just likes to take it slow and easy.

Nifty - American Paint Horse Gelding

Nifty was born May 10, 2002.  He is a 7 year-old Palomino colored Paint Horse.  He loves the trail, and stays with the group well.   Nifty gives us no problems, and is a really solid horse!

Sid - American Quarter Horse Gelding

Sid is a retired pick-up horse, who used to pick up cowboys that didn't get bucked of the bucking horses.  We think he is about 23 years old - by far the oldest horse we have.  He is solid in every way.  Don't let his age fool you, this old man has plenty of fire left in him!  He likes to travel and doesn't think much of just standing around.

Sugar - American Paint Horse Mare

Sugar was born April 15, 2001.  For those who rode with us last year, this was most likely the horse I was riding.  She is a good horse in good shape.  She will do anything the trail demands and she looks good doing it!

Blaze - American Quarter Horse Mare

Blaze is also 5 years old and went with Poky on the trail ride adventures to Golden Hills in southern Missouri as well as Berry Bend on Truman Lake.  Here's another solid, fun ride for a little more experienced rider.

Jack - American Quarter Horse Gelding

Jack is a little brother to one of our favorites, Big Red.  We expect great things from him and he is living up to his big brother's reputation rather well.  He is on his way to being a great trail horse!

Chicka - American Paint Horse Mare

Chickadee (Chicka) was born on May 30, 2000.  She was on the 'injured' list for over a year, but you will probably see me riding this one a lot this year.  She is all horse and beautifully put together.  I really like this little lady a lot, but due to the injury she will need a bit of polish before I offer her for anyone to ride.

Poky - American Quarter Horse Mare

Poky is a young mare that we trained here and then left us for a couple of years.  But she is back and ready for action!  She has been on trail ride adventures to Golden Hills in southern Missouri as well as Berry Bend on Truman Lake.  She gives a solid, fun ride for a little more experienced rider.

Taffy - American Paint Horse Mare

Taffy is a little 5 year-old mare that some of you may have seen me ride last year.  She is a flashy little lady with a lot of potential as a great trail horse.  My nephew has been coming over on the weekends and after school to ride her and he just loves her.

Cherry - American Paint Horse Mare

Cherry was named by the kids.  Her mom is Cherokee and her dad is Doc, so we know she will be a great trail horse one day!   She was born on March 21, 2005 here at our farm, and is being trained here.  She will be a wonderful trail horse when we offer her for riding.

Trixy - American Paint Horse Mare

Trixy is by the same mom and dad as little Cherry, just a year later.  Though she looks nothing like her sister, Trixy has the same easy-going way about her.  She comes up to you in the pasture so you can scratch her butt.  She is funny, and we expect a lot of great things from these youngsters!  Of course they will not be offered for riding until they are ready.
